My Fathers House Movie
In May 2011, Hannah Reimann decided to interview and videotape her father, Dr. Peter Reimann, knowing that Progressive Dementia was slowly seizing his mind. This is the first piece of the feature length movie that tracks Dr. Reimann’s disease. It shows him still in good humor and spirits talking about his love of Bach and some experiences as an anti-Nazi in Rome during WWII.
Music and Poetry eases Dementia and improves brain function as demonstrated by retired physician, Peter Reimann. Here he is reciting and singing ”Der Lindenbaum” (The Linden Tree) and “Die Krahe” (The Crow) written by Franz Schubert with texts by Wilhelm Muller.
