 Hannah Reimann Education

Hannah‘s private piano and vocal studio has been in business for three decades in New York City, offering private lessons and student concerts to ages 4-19 and adult students.

Her first studio, Eastside Piano Studios was located on the Upper East Side from 1991 - 2001 while she served on the piano faculty of The Diller-Quaille School of Music.

She moved to the West Village and Greenwich Village in the early 2000s. She became a professional singer and added vocal lessons to her educational offerings from 2003 - 2025.

Hannah studied acting with Austin Pendelton at HB Studio for four years and teaches singers how to act. She also worked with students in Short Hills and Springfield, New Jersey for 15 years while also working in NYC.

Hannah specializes in teaching students to perform, gain confidence playing and singing for themselves and audiences, acquire a work ethic, and learn to enjoy the work involved in making music. She started producing concerts independently in NYC when she was a student.

Her gentle yet strict approach works with all ages and she does her best to have fun with her students, too, treating each as an individual with his or her unique strengths.

Her students have played concerts at Steinway Hall as an Official Steinway Educational Partner, 92YTriBeCa, the National Opera Center, Greenwich House Music School, St. John’s in the Village’s Revelation Gallery which housed her Steinway concert piano from 2018-2022, and at The Annual International Stretto Piano Festival for which she is Artistic Director.

Throughout the COVID-10 Pandemic Hannah hosted multiple Zoom concerts while working remotely, and resumed concerts at The National Opera Center, Symphony Space, Engelman Recital Hall, and other Manhattan venues for students from all boroughs of NYC.

She created a music teaching studio in Springfield and Short Hills, New Jersey, and worked there for 15 years while also working in New York. She has also taught on Vinalhaven Island, Maine where her family’s summer home is located.

Hannah’s teaching lineage traces back, by multiple generations, to Beethoven and Lizst in part from working with German Diez (assistant to Claudio Arrau), Arminda Canteros, Walter Cohrssen, and Blossom Cohon. As a singer, she studied operatic technique with Beth Roberts (Mannes College of Music, Montclair State University), pop vocals with Seth Riggs, and various genres with Badiene Magaziner in the early 2000s.

Reflective of her multi-genre career, she enjoys working with her students to study various styles of music and assists young songwriters to accompany themselves on piano, guitar, and other instruments.

Find her instructional piano primer book, 1 2 3, Do Re Mi, on Amazon and Subito Publishing websites and look forward to her new piano books in the upcoming months of 2025.

When she was a piano faculty member for 10 years at the Diller-Quaille School of Music, Hannah founded her first private studio on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. She was still a student as a concert pianist then. Partnering with Steinway & Sons for over 25 years, many student concerts were held at Steinway Hall as well as the National Opera Center, Greenwich House School of Music, and for four years at St. John’s in the Village where Hannah also hosted a monthly all-ages composers & spoken word exchange with the Village and extended community.

She has cultivated her 21st-century approach to music education in Greenwich Village since 2003, teaching multi-genre piano pieces and songs, sharing her educational abilities as a pro singer, actor, and composer. She and her staff teach performance, produce at least two concerts per year for their growing class of vocal and piano students.

Hannah has written music for her clients or together with them as a co-writer.

Some of her students have appeared on Broadway (Matilda, The Boy from Oz, Mary Poppins, School of Rock, etc.). All of them come to know their unique mode of musical expression with confidence and joy. Reimann Music makes every effort to promote equality and camaraderie amongst its student body and for kids to learn in a non-competitive environment of support and community.
